For the past several months Sunflower Circle Productions has been working on a made for TV observational documentary film series project entitled
"Chase the Horizon"
This documentary series is based on the travels of Richard Halliburton. In the 1920’s and 30’s Richard Halliburton’s name was a household word. Field & Stream magazine paid him for his first article; The Scripps-Howard Commercial Appeal newspaper in Memphis carried his stories and paid him for articles on his adventures. Halliburton’s book “Richard Halliburton’s Complete Book of Marvels” was read in school classrooms and in homes inspiring the love of travel, geography and history.
“This journey will inspire the viewer’s imaginations, give the audience the thrill of a personal experience, involve them in the adventure, give them a feel of exploration; enhance their minds with historical facts and geographical information, give them a desire to travel to the locations themselves and instill an appreciation for the cultural diversity of the world in which we live.” Carolyn Treanor
This unique action packed adventure series unfolds as avid adventurer Tim Bailey follows in the footsteps of Richard Halliburton. Many years ago Bailey wrote in his journal that his mission in life is to inspire others to follow their dreams and live more adventurously. Bailey writes “The spirit of adventure inevitably leads off the beaten track and in the end; it’s the experiences that makes us who we are.”
Richard Halliburton was much the same, a 20th century author, lecturer and adventurer was born in 1900 and disappeared in 1939, sailing from Hong Kong across the Pacific Ocean in a Chinese junk to the San Francisco International Exposition.
Simultaneously with the first episode Sunflower Circle Productions plan to republish the book “Richard Halliburton’s Complete Book of Marvels” with new up to date color photographs and introduce interactive internet educational software as well as game software that will further education in areas of geography, history and the cultural diversity of our world.
Sunflower Circle Productions is currently seeking funding and support for this very ambitious project
